GCC and guildford churches are very involved in the worldwide mission thrust of 24-7. Quite a few GCC guys ( Ross N, Chris M, Jayne T, Cat Wood, Jooles D ) are on these teama and Steph leaves to lead the Athens Olympic team on 8th August. GCC took an offering to help quite a few of the participants and it is great reading all the reports and Blogs ( weblogs). To read it all in full just click on the link to the 24-7 mission page

- leaving another 3 or 4 converts in macedonia to be followed up
- having a totally encouraging and inspiring time with a church in Belgrade - seeing 5 or 6 people regularly involved in the church there.

Also cat wood who is on the Athens team wrote..
i just want to write a note to say thanks to all you guys at GCC! I have really appreciated the way all the students have been welcomed in and encouraged.
i'm so grateful to have had such an incredible amoount of support. the journey to get the finance for athens was difficult challenging and confusing at times but as usual God - faithful to the end provided. HALLELUJAH
So much of this is down to GCC members and their obedience to God. I've already met some really cool people who are so passionate to do God's will and have a gentleness which is approachable - thank you
This next year is a major one as 24-7 ( which was launched at Bojanglez on Woodbridge Road ) celebrates 5 years of non stop prayer for mission. there are 9 Uk groups with their own years of prayer, Spain has prayed 6 months of 24-7 and three are now as many prayer rooms each week in africa or the americas as Europe.
July 2005 sees mission stepping up a notch with plans for a major mission launch for 500 - 1000 young people - with mobile teams all over europe, teams in major cities - again initiated out of Guildford.
Please pray for the right people to be in place - oh and check out the blogs! |
